Manzanillo

Nestled between the back drop of the tropical jungles of the Sierra Madre Mountains and the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean, lies the beautiful port city of Manzanillo.  Manzanillo is Mexico’s largest seaport and arguably it’s best kept beach secret.  Manzanillo is located in the state of Colima along Mexico’s Pacific Riviera between Puerto Vallarta to the north and Acapulco to the south.  While Puerto Vallarta is very sleek and chic, Manzanillo offers a more casual and relaxed atmosphere.

The area around Manzanillo is surrounded by exotic tropical vegetation, plantations of coconut, bananas, limes, mango, papayas and some of the most beautiful unpopulated beaches in the country.  The resorts, beaches, scuba diving and fishing are as good as any in Mexico without the crowds which gives the traveller a peaceful, relaxing, authentic vacation.

 In downtown Manzanillo you have a working class city of more than 100,000 with lots of restaurants and shops.   As you make your way from the Manzanillo Bay area north towards Santiago Bay, you start to encounter stretches of quiet beaches and palm covered hills with colourful homes. With its laid back beach attitude, tranquil settings and beautiful weather, Manzanillo is still a relatively undiscovered jewel.
